Talks

Humanising the Banks - by Tiago Marques, Lloyds Banking Group

Speaker

Tiago will talk about the past, present and future of what is arguably Britain’s least loved service. He’ll cover a bit of recent history leading to the financial crisis 10 years ago, how the banking industry has changed in the recent years, and how UX can help define the bank of the future.  We’ll be discussing:

  • How banks went from pillars of the community to turning the world upside down with the financial crisis of 2007-08.
  • How the market has responded to the crisis, with the rise of mobile banking, more engaged regulation and many fintech challengers.
  • How trust is still paramount to financial services, and Accessibility, Education, Inclusion, Open Banking and User Experience can help create a more humane bank.

Tiago is a Senior UX Designer with 10+ years of international experience, working with brands such as Barclays, WorldPay, American Express and Lloyds Bank.
