UX Certification Providers

Certified Professional for Usability and User Experience (CPUX)

The International Usability and UX Qualification Board (UXQB) is a consortium of international experts in usability and user experience. UXQB currently develop, maintain and administer the world-wide CPUX program. CPUX is developed and advanced with the active participation of practitioners from participating countries and is recognised by UXPA UK, UXPA Switzerland and the German UPA.

Certification is available at both Foundation and Advanced levels. Examinations are independently delivered by the International Software Quality Institute (iSQI) at the end of accredited training courses or at Pearson Vue test centres . CPUX syllabus are freely available directly from iSQI or UXQB.

Training for the  CPUX program is delivered by independent, accredited training providers recognised by the UXQB. Candidates may also self-study and enter a public certification test without prior training.

BCS Foundation Certificate in User Experience

BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, is a professional body and a learned society that represents those working in Information Technology. BCS is an international organisation and a registered charity with over 82,000 members in over 100 countries. BCS offers higher education qualifications and professional certification (in areas like business analysis and agile) and its certification exams are independently marked and audited.

The syllabus of the BCS Foundation Certificate in User Experience is based on the international usability standard ISO 9241-210. It covers areas such as field research, usability testing, information architecture and interaction design. The BCS syllabus is available on their web site.

Training for the BCS Foundation Certificate in User Experience is delivered by independent, accredited training providers recognised by BCS. Candidates may also self-study and sit the exam. Examinations are independently delivered at the end of accredited training courses or at Pearson Vue test centres.
